TDPAP Pirkei Avot (3.1)

This week’s idea on Mishna 3.1 is written by Dalia Bornstein, cofounder of The Dee Pirkei Avot Project. Dalia and Maia were childhood friends when Maia lived in London. During their year in sem, Dalia and Libby were welcomed to the Dee’s home in Efrat where they participated in learning Pirkei Avot and discussed ways to incorporate the principles into their lives. As we enter into the third of six chapters of Mishna Avot we want to invite those who may not have participated in a while to use this as an opportunity to begin learning with us again. At a time when Am Yisrael is in such need, it is more important than ever that we take things on in the merit of all those fighting for our homeland, both on the battlefield and beyond. By engaging with this project, we are remembering Lucy, Maia and Rina Dee z"tl and coming together to keep their flames alive in this world. At the end of this Perek, we hope to conduct an international Siyum online in which we will mark the halfway point in our learning journey together. It is phenomenal to see and hear of the impact that learning a Mishna over Shabbat has on the lives of individuals across the globe. As we enter into the new month of Tevet and the third chapter of Avot, let us unite as one. 🇮🇱 עם ישראל חי 🇮🇱

TDPAP Pirkei Avot (2.16)

This week’s idea on Mishna 2.16 is written by Rabbi Leo Dee, the husband of Lucy zt”l and father of Maia and Rina zt”l, in who’s memory this project is dedicated. Since their tragic murder, Rabbi Leo has been sharing the key message of bringing about Shalom in this world by speaking to hundreds of thousands of individuals across the globe. He and his three children Keren, Tali and Yehuda are based in Efrat. As we enter into the festival of Chanukah and simultaneously finish the second chapter of Mishna Avot, we continue to pray that our learning is in the merit of Lucy, Maia and Rina as well as all those killed in the ongoing war. We also intend for our collective learning to serve as a zechut for Am Yisrael, especially all those in acute need of Hashem’s help. May the light of Chanukah and Torah such as this illuminate our lives and encourage us to grow together in the face of tremendous challenges. ✡🕎 ! שבת שלום וחנוכה שמח 🕎✡ 🇮🇱 עם ישראל חי 🇮🇱

This week’s idea on Mishna 2.15 is written by Jonathan Levene who has been inspired by the love and achdut (togetherness) that the Dees have taught and shown us. Having grown up in the UK, he is now in his second year of Yeshiva in Israel. We continue to wholeheartedly daven and learn in the merit of all those in Israel. Our lists are based off names sent to us and may not be up to date with the hostages as they continue to be released iyH. Nevertheless, we daven for the welfare of them all. עם ישראל חי ❤ 🇮🇱
